What is Assertiveness?

A person's assertiveness is made up of their self-confidence and ability to
put forward their own views. It is, primarily, a way of communicating your
thoughts in a non-aggressive way, whilst respecting the opinions of others.
This sort of communication should allow more openness and equality in any
kind of relationship.

Assertiveness training can be helpful to both passive people, who let others
take advantage of them, and aggressive people, who run the risk of bullying
to get their own way.
